This project is typical of over 70 similar reroofing projects completed by key members of Crane over the course of the past 30 years, ranging in construction cost. Crane was called into this particular project to investigate roof leakage occurring in various portions of the facility.
The "low" roof of this facility was designed for additional stories and therefor was constructed of reinforced concrete including the roof/floor deck while the remainder of the facility was constructed with steel framing and steel roof decks.
Based on Crane's investigation survey and subsequent recommendations, the scope of this project included the replacement of 112,500 square feet of roofing for the "low" roof portion of the building. The scope of work included the installation of a 3-ply modified bitumen built-up roof membrane system, tapered insulation, and flashings.
All work was completed to meet current USPS energy conservation requirements.
