PROJECT SUMMARY

This is a typical facility upgrade project for one of over 50 such upgrades in which Crane has provided investigative surveys designed for the USPS over the past 25 years.

This particular project included relocating the retail portion of the Chatham Main Post Office to an alternate location, while also requiring extensive Planning Board and local Historical Preservation Coordination.

Modifications to the existing facility included:

SITE SURVEY AND HVAC STUDY

DEMOLITION OF EXISTING LOBBY/RETAIL AREA

INSTALLATION OF ADA SELF-SERVICE LOBBY

EXPANSION OF THE EXISTING WORK ROOM

ASBESTOS REMOVAL

 

Upgrade of the new leased Retail Unit included:

demolition of existing bike shop

work and toilet room installations

counter and lobby installations

new loading dock and canopy

new parking lot

extensive site renovations

replaced toilet facilities

replaced hvac systems

modified fire sprinkler

complete electrical upgrade

installation of data, security and cctv systems

compliance with ada requirements

compliance with local main street historical district requirements

complete planning board submissions and approvals
