PROJECT BRIEF

Situated in the heart of New Rochelle, New York, this highly anticipated new post office facility was designed to be an revitalizing component of the Village of Pelham’s neighborhood. The site is located several blocks from its former lease on Main St. and three blocks from the Metro-North Rail Station. Crane Associates, PC worked with the Village Architectural Review Board to meet guidelines consistent with the ordinance and quality of recently built high-end condominiums on the opposite side of the street.

CA was commissioned to complete and investigatory survey and analysis and draft architectural and engineering plans for the new building. Upon approval, Crane supervised the construction of the building through final inspections. Crane Associates exceeded expectations in meeting the Village of Pelham’s stringent guidelines while also succeeding in making it a visual landmark for a federal institution. CA's experience and practices met USPS design standards, strict budgetary constraints and energy standards, while also achieving the first-ever designation as a ASHRAE 90.1 facility approved by the USPS Headquarters Energy Audit Department.
