America's Keswick

Conference Center and Addition Recovery Complex Expansion and Upgrade

America's Keswick is a faith based organization offering a serene, peaceful haven to meet both spiritual and physical needs. America's Keswick serves the local community and public at large to meet the needs for rest, refreshment, recreation and renewal. Crane has worked closely with America's Keswick over several years to plan for growth as well as to upgrade and expand their existing facilities.


Chatham Main Post Office

Postalize Alternate Quarters

This is a typical facility upgrade project for one of over 50 such upgrades for which Crane has provided investigation, design and construction phase services for the USPS over the past 25 years. This particular project included the relocation of the retail portion of the Chatham MPO to an alternative location.


Delbarton High School

Emergency Power Systems Upgrade

Delbarton School is operated by a faith-based Catholic Benedictine religious order. The Morristown campus consists of many facilities, including a Benedictine Monastery, church, retreat center, private high school academy for boys and various facilities for sports and academics. Crane has worked closely with Delbarton to upgrade their standby electrical system to serve their immediate and future needs.


Dominick V. Daniels

HVAC Upgrade - Survey and Design

Placed in service in 1974, this facility, with 650,000 square feet of highly mechanized floor space and 186 loading dock bays, is the second largest mail Processing and Distribution Center in New Jersey. Over the past 20 years, Crane Associates has been privileged to provide design and construction phase services for numerous upgrades totaling over $7,000,000. The example provided here is a comprehensive HVAC upgrade.


Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church

Community Center Expansion and Upgrade

Additional classrooms and meeting and common facilities were required to accommodate increasing demands on the current facility. Since the lot coverage area has been fully developed, the facility was expanded upward by adding a second floor to the Community Center. The new expansion was nested around the existing Gymnasium above existing classroom areas.


Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties - Wastewater Treatment Plant

Co-Generation Facility

The Joint Meeting of Essex and Union Counties completed the construction of a new co-generation facility to house six (6) 800KW gas-fueled engine generators capable of providing sufficient electrical energy for the entire wastewater treatment plant. Digester gas is utilized from the past plant process and is supplemented by natural gas to fuel the engines. Crane was responsible for the architectural, mechanical and electrical design and construction phase services for the new co-generation plant.


Madison Electrical Department

Borough Utility Engineer

The Borough of Madison, New Jersey owns and maintains its own electrical utility system, purchasing 34.4KV of power from the Jersey Central Power & Light Company, now GPU Energy. The installed capacity of the Borough's system is approximately 88MVA and consists of a 34.4KV sub-transmission system and 4.16KV and 12.4KV distribution systems. Crane has been retained as the Engineer of Record for the Borough of Madison' Electrical Department for the past 35 years.


Montclair State University

Campus-Wide Electrical Infrastructure Upgrade

The University's campus-wide electrical system, originally consisting of an outdated 13.2 KV - 4.16KV, 7 MVA substation, was upgraded with new 26.4KV PSE&G utility feeders: two (2) 20 MVA,  26.4KV - 4.16KV, 2400 VAC transformers and two (2) lineups of 4.16KV switchgear housed in a new switchgear building. Included in the upgrade was the replacement of nine (9) radial feeders which server approximately forty (40) buildings on campus.


New Rochelle, New York, Pelham Branch Post Office

The new one-story, 7,000-square-foot Post Office facility was designed to be an integral part of the Village of Pelham's Master Plan for Revitalization. Crane Associates not only met the Village's stringent guidelines but succeeded in making it a visual landmark as well as meeting USPS design standards, strict budgetary constraints and energy standards.


Newark Main Post Office and Federal Courts

Facility Renovations

The Newark Main Post Office building not only accommodates the retail postal facility but also serves as a mail processing and distribution center. The upper floors house several federal courts and associated judges' offices. Over the past 20 years, Crane has provided design and construction phase services for number upgrades and renovations at this facility.


New Jersey International and Bulk Mail Center

The New Jersey International and Bulk Mail Center was the first of 21 Bulk Mail Centers constructed throughout the nation. Placed in service in 1973, this installation, with 1.6 million square feet of highly mechanized floor space and 292 loading dock bays, is the largest and most complex Bulk Mail Center in the country, the largest military gateway in the country and the largest foreign exchange office in the world. Over the past 20 years, Crane Associates has been privileged to provide design and construction phase services for numerous expansions and upgrades.

Bypass to Secondary Building Expansion

The project's purpose was to expand the existing Bulk building to provide additional space to house new material-handling fixed mechanization.

Northeast Building Expansion

The northeast expansion project included the addition of 9,000 square feet of floor space by 50 feet high.


South Ridge Community Church

Worship and Activities Center Upgrades

South Ridge Community Church is a faith-based organization serving the residents of Hunterdon County and the surrounding area with worship and recreation facilities. The main campus also incorporates the facilities of Crossroads Christian Academy, a private school including pre-K through eighth grade. Crane has worked closely with South Ridge to upgrade their facilities to serve their immediate and future needs.


Summit Main Post Office

Facility Upgrade

This is a typical facility upgrade project for one of over 50 such upgrades designed and construction-managed for the USPS over the past 20 years. Numerous upgrades and renovations were provided at this facility. The State Historic Preservation Office (SHPO) has determined that this facility is a contributing element in a historic district. Therefore, all work was required to meet SHPO guidelines.
